     Broiled Asparagus

2 Bunches Asparagus medium thickness
2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 

Rinse the aparagus and  lay on a cutting board. Cut on the diagonal into 1 to 1 1/2 inch slices dicarding as much of the bottoms as desired.

Toss all ingredients and place on a rimmed cookie sheet. Broil until slightly charred. About 5 minutes. Trasfer to a platter.

Drizzle with red wine vinegar and a little more olive oil if desired

Top with shaved asiago or parmesan cheese.
